- A mercury thermometer, which served as a promotional item from the Gans family's chemical company: Chem. Fabrik Ganss Mannheim. The thermometer is part of a collection consisting of documents, correspondence, photographs, musical compositions and exercises, sketches, recorded letters, Werner Gans' memoir, "Ten Years--A Lifetime", a cello and bow, and a document case relating to the experiences of the Gans (previously Ganss) family in Germany, Italy, Cuba, and the US before and during the Holocaust.

- Mercury thermometer (a) attached to a metal plate with a loop in the back for hanging. The metal plate is printed with themanufacturer's (Chem. Fabrik Ganss, Mannheim) information. The thermometer is accompanied by two informational cards (b-c) and a cardboard box (d - base; e - lid).
