The collection consists of a World War I medal, documents, and photograph albums relating to the experiences of Hans Goldmeier (later John) and his family before and during the war in Germany and during and after the war in England where Hans was sent on a Kindertransport, as well as audio interviews and documents relating to the Kronthal, Friedlander (Fried) and Nakler families, the extended families of the Goldmeiers and of John's wife, Dorothy Fried Goldmeier.

Consists of pre-war, wartime, and post-war documents, photographs, passports, identity documentation, school notebooks, day planners, and photograph albums belonging to Hans Goldmeier (later John). The collection documents Hans' emigration from Frankfurt am Main, Germany, to England as part of the Kindertransport, his schooling at the Stoatley Rough boarding school with other refugee children, his post-war life as a social worker, and reunions with other refugees. Includes family tree information, photographs and documents related to the Kronthal, Friedlander (Fried) and Nakler families, the extended families of the Goldmeiers and of John's wife, Dorothy Fried Goldmeier.
