    Interview Summary
    Nat Soffer discusses his experiences in the ghetto in Vilna, Poland (now Vilnius, Lithuania); his work as a barber; the loss of his wife and child during the liquidation of the ghetto in September 1943; his deportation to a concentration camp in Estonia; his continued work as a barber; being transferred to Stutthof and then to several unnamed camps before his arrival at Dachau; being liberated by the United States Army while on a train from Dachau to Italy on April 30, 1945; his experiences in an unnamed DP (displaced persons) camp in the French zone; his immigration to the United States in 1951; his continued work as a barber; his remarriage and family; the psychological aftermath of his experiences; his fears about antisemitism; and his support for Israel.
