    Edna Weiner (née Grun), born on March 27, 1927 in in Satu Mare, Romania, discusses her early life in Satu Mare; the beginning of the war and the ghetto formed in Satu Mare; her family's deportation to Auschwitz; the train journey to Auschwitz, the selection, and the fates of other members of her family; the work she did at Auschwitz; the guards' brutality; the dehumanization of the prisoners; her friendships with other women; the music that was performed in Auschwitz; her time at other labor camps, including Gelsenkirchen, Essen, and Bergen-Belsen; and the emotional impact of her Holocaust experiences, as well as the concept of resistance to the Nazis.
