    Interview Summary
    Fred Wilzig, born July 16, 1913 in Krojanke, Germany (now Krajenka, Poland), discusses his childhood in Krojanke; his years studying in Berlin from 1929-1933; the rise of antisemitism under the Nazi regime; the restrictions Jews were forced to endure; his forced labor for the Germany Army beginning in 1941; the deportation of his mother and sister in 1942 and his experiences living underground in Berlin; being hidden by Christian friends; turning himself into the police to save family members; being deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1943; his experiences in Buna-Monowitz; death march to Gleiwitz; and being liberated in Waldenburg, Silesia by Russian troops.
