Elfriede Sobiloff discusses her childhood in Vienna, Austria; her orthodox Jewish upbringing; her education; the work she performed as a young woman; leaving for Milan, Italy in August 1938 and her experiences there; finding a family in the United States to sponsor her immigration; her arrival in New York in 1939; her marriage and family; her decision to go back to school and earn her law degree; and her life after the war.
