    Max Erlichman describes his childhood in Caracas, Venezuela and Amsterdam, Holland; His deportation with his father and brother to Westerbork concentration camp in November 1942; the fate of his mother and brother who were deported to Auschwitz; his deportation to Auschwitz; being returned to Westerbork; his tiem in Bergen-Belsen and a work camp in Munich; his liberation by American forces in March 1945; his experiences in a displaced persons camp in Wurzburg, Germany before his return to Holland; his immigration with his father and surviving brother to the United States.

    The Bay Area Holocaust Oral History Project conducted the interview with Max Erlichman on January 6, 1994. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum received the tapes of the interview from the Bay Area Holocaust Oral History Project in March 2001.
