    Margot Webb discusses her childhood in Halle, Germany; the confiscation of her father's business; her family's move to Arnstadt to live with her grandparents; the traumatic antisemitic experiences she endured while a child; her grandfather's arrest; her grandfather’s and her grandmother's move to Holland to escape Nazi oppression; witnessing the events of Kristallnacht in November 1938; her father's emigration from the Netherlands to the United States; the subsequent emigration of herself and her mother using her grandparents’ United States visas in 1939; her experiences once she arrived in the United States; her marriage; her children; her career as a teacher; her involvement in civil rights activities; the guilt she feels about using her grandparents' visas; her grandparents’ death at Auschwitz.
