    Interview Summary
    Knud Dyby, born in Vorup, Denmark, discusses his childhood; his military service; his work as a police officer in Copenhagen; the German invasion of Denmark in 1940; his work in the resistance movement, including sabotages, espionage, and the production of underground newspapers; his activities as part of a larger movement during the German attempt to deport the Jews of Copenhagen in October 1943; providing transport to the harbor and arranging safe passage to Sweden for many individuals and families; the dangers he faced as part of the resistance; emigrating to the United States after the war ended; marrying and having a family; working as an importer and as a printer; his life in America.
