    Description
    Title card: “With the Faust Family Pabjanice April 1933.” In Pabianice, Poland, three children play with a shovel and bucket in the sand. Three women in fur coats sit closely together on a bench. The Faust family walks down a residential street and poses for the camera. The elder is Herman Faust, a textile manufacturer whose home and business were located in either Pabjanice or Czestochowa (many family members perished during the Holocaust). Lovely portraits of the family. The children make faces and are scolded. The group continues to pose in various spots and groupings for the camera, sometimes waving and blowing kisses. One couple holds still photo cameras. 01:04:06 Platform [Nástupiště] at a Czech train station.

    Title card: “Sofienalp with Dr. Damask, Parks of Vienna.” The couple and likely Dr. Damask, stand in a large pasture, the Sofienalpe. CU, Dr. Damask. He walks with Morris. Rolling hills. Palatial building with columns. People sit outside in a manicured garden with a fountain. Views of different parks, statues, and fountains.

    Biography
    Morris Horn, M.D. served in Europe in WW2 as a Captain in the Army Medical Corps and died while serving his country. Dr. Morris Horn married Ruth Carlson Horn in the Commodore Hotel in NYC in August 1932 by Rabbi Albert Martin. Ruth (1913 - 1999) was a noted patron of the arts and innovator in Bridgeport, Connecticut's arts community. She was the daughter of William Carlson, an automobile industrialist, and Frances Faust Carlson, a pianist.

    Film Provenance
    Henry Elstein donated original films to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in December 2016. The films document the European travels of the parents of his late wife, Sandra Horn Elstein.
    Note
    The Horns sailed to Europe on the M.V. Saturnia on August 20, 1932 and returned on the Georgic from Liverpool on July 29, 1933.
