Four 16mm films documenting the year-long honeymoon of Ruth Carlson Horn and Dr. Morris Horn. Ruth (1913 - 1999) was a noted patron of the arts and innovator in Bridgeport, Connecticut's arts community. She was the daughter of William Carlson, an automobile industrialist, and Frances Faust Carlson, a pianist. Morris Horn, M.D. (1900 - ) served in Europe in WW2 as a Captain in the Army Medical Corps and died while serving his country. Ruth and Morris were married in the Commodore Hotel in NYC in August 1932 by Rabbi Albert Martin. The Faust Family (Ruth’s mother’s family) appear in a short section of the film in Pabianice, Poland. Herman Faust was a textile manufacturer whose home and business were located in Pabianice or Czestochowa, Poland. His son Samuel Faust and other sons and cousins were at a party welcoming the American visitors. It is believed that many members of the Faust Family perished during the Holocaust.

CU of the elderly man. A large crowd of people in dark clothing gather on the street; parade. Ruth on a street corner walking towards the camera. Behind her, bicycles, cars, and handsome cabs pass by on the street. Morris follows. Title card: “Venice - Feeding Pidgeons St. Marks Square.” Ruth walks in the middle of a huge crowd of pigeons in St Marks Square, extending her arm in an unsuccessful attempt for one of them to land on her.
