    Philip Potiyevsky, born on August 6, 1922 in Malyn, Ukraine, discusses his experiences in the Soviet Army during WWII; being wounded near Moscow, Russia and being rescued by a local farmer before returning to the army; and receiving the “Medal for Courage”, the medal "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945", the medal "For the Liberation of Warsaw", and two “Orders of the Red Star”.

    Provenance
    Elen Steinberg, Founder of the Soviet Jewish Veterans Video Interviews and Memory Project, donated the interviews with Jewish Red Army veterans to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in January 2020. The interviewees, who are all Canadian residents, were interviewed in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary between 2010 and 2015.
