Ljubomir Bugarin, born in 1917 in Novi Sad in the former Yugoslavia, describes his education in Belgrade and return to Novi Sad at the beginning of the war; Hungarian soldiers entering Novi Sad; the murder of civilians by Hungarian soldiers; the sight of corpses in the Danube river; his father preventing the arrest of his sons; and spending the rest of the war in Pešt.
