    Brigitte Dinev, born in 1938 in Kiel, Germany, describes her parents' membership in the NSDAP; her father's activities during the war and his death in 1949; a death march during which prisoners asked for food from local townspeople; and her life after the war, including her participation in the creation of a memorial for the victims of the death march.

    This is a witness interview of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's Perpetrators, Collaborators, and Witnesses: The Jeff and Toby Herr Testimony Initiative, a multi-year project to record the testimonies of non-Jewish witnesses to the Holocaust. Wendy Lower, on behalf of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, coordinated the interview with Brigitte Dinev in Germany, on May 5, 2011. The interview was received by the Museum's Oral History Branch in 2011.
