    Flora Carasso Mihael, born in Thessaloniki, Greece on December 11, 1935, discusses the German occupation of Greece; the formation of a ghetto; contracting typhus; obtaining false papers; moving to Athens, Greece; being deported to Bergen-Belsen; the train failure and being transferred to Ravensbrück; the subsequent abandonment by German soldiers; being liberated by American forces; finding a safe haven in a Belgian monastery; move to France then Italy; her return to Thessaloniki and the rebuilding of her life

    The interview with Flora Mihael was produced by Larry Papier as part of a project to interview Holocaust survivors in the Washington, D.C. area. This volunteer project was conducted with support and technical advice from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum received the interview in 1992.
