The interviewee, a Ukrainian woman born in 1934, discusses events in Kam'yanki (Kam'yanky), Ukraine; the prewar presence of Jews, both rich and poor; memories of the arrival of Germans and the billeting of some in her family's house; the forcing of Jewish men to work on roads; the housing of male Jews from Kam’yanki and elsewhere in former stables; hearing extended periods of shooting and later being told that Jewish women and children had been shot; smelling the odor of burning bodies; and learning from her father, who was among the Ukrainians requisitioned to move them, of the disposition of bodies.
