A woman born in 1931 discusses events in Novosilka, Ternopil's'ka Oblast, Ukraine; details on three ditches in a field near Novosilka, which local people were requisitioned to dig and at which Jews from the Skalat ghetto were shot; details on a column of Jews marched to the ditches; witnessing with other children from a nearby hill as hundreds of Jews were shot; the escape of some Jews to the forest; attempting to bring water to a wounded Jew hiding in a wheat field and being chased off by a German soldier and warned not to help Jews; the subsequent grading of the ditch site by a tractor; a Jewish child hiding for months in the witness's yard; and providing food to Jews hiding in the forest.
