A Belarusian woman, born in 1937, discusses her experiences in Dzisna (Vitebsk Oblast), Belarus before and during WWII; the Jews and Jewish shops in the village; her family's work for the Jews; life before the war; the Polish era; the German occupation of Dzisna; the Jewish ghetto, the location of which was guarded by Polizei and Germans; the Jewish locals hiding money because they thought that they would return; the mass murder of Jews committed by the commandant (named Shamshur) and others; the burning of Jewish homes; the sites of the murders; and the memorials.
