Oral History | Accession Number: 2009.24.1049 | RG Number: RG-50.589.1049

A Russian woman discusses her experiences in Kagalnitskaia (Rostov Oblast), Russia before and during WWII; the civilians, communists, and suspected Nazi sympathizers, who were shot at a nearby ravine in 1942 (the interviewee only heard about the killings); relatives collecting the bodies and reburying them in a nearby cemetery; the burying of unidentified bodies in a common grave; and her uncertainty about whether Jews, Greeks, or Roma were shot at the ravine.
