    Ginger Lane (née Bela Weber), born on November 27, 1939 in Berlin, Germany, describes growing up the youngest of seven children; the mixed marriage between her ethnic German father and German-Jewish mother; the death of her mother during the war, while her father and siblings all survived; being hidden with her siblings in the German countryside just outside Berlin; and being adopted by a Jewish-American family after the war.
