    Interview Summary
    Georges Borchardt (born Thomas Georges Borchardt, 02/24/1928) discusses his Holocaust experiences; being born in Berlin to German Jews who fled Germany as the Nazi party emerged and settled in a bourgeois area of Paris. He recalls the Nazi occupation of Paris, wearing the Star of David, avoiding the Nazi's, going into hiding with an abortionist, a White Russian Princess, and other rescuers ; fleeing with his mother and sisters into unoccupied France; Traveling to Nice and attending a private school there; the arrest of his mother; being taken in by a priest and attending schoo in Aix-en-Provence; coming to terms with the death of his mother and returning to Paris after the war before emigrating to the United States in May 1947,

    Special Note: This interview was edited at the interviewee's request and non-Holocaust content relating to the publishing business was removed from the interview. The full interview has been retained by USHMM and will be released at a later date.
