Erna Cipra, born in 1933 in Mostar, Bosnia and Hercegovina, describes her experiences as a Jew taken from her hometown of Mostar to a camp on Rab Island in 1942; feeling shame at wearing a yellow Star of David badge, and her Croat teacher telling her not to be ashamed; poor conditions in the camp, and later hiding in the forest; protection provided by the partisans; and the aftermath of the war.
