August Kowalczyk, born in Tarnowa Góra, Poland in 1921, discusses moving to Częstochowa, Poland and living in a Jewish neighborhood; being arrested and sent to Auschwitz; violence in the camp; escaping from Auschwitz in June 1942; and hiding with the help of the Home Army (Armia Krajowa).
