    Description
    Program about music in the camps, possibly for Polish radio, Katowice Radio. Program host: unidentified. Includes repertoire from Auschwitz, Auschwitz-Birkenau, Ravensbrück -- but nothing from Terezin as label indicates.

    Music contents: 1) "Hymn" by Aleksander Kulisiewicz (based on Moorsoldaten); 2) "Moorsoldaten" (original, in German); 3) Wir schreiten fest (Esterwegen anthem); 4) "Die Gedanken sind frei" (resistance song); 5) unidentified Polish patriotic song; 6) "Im Lager Auschwitz war ich zwar"; 7) "Schwarzbraun ist die Haselnuss"'; 8) "Im Wald, im grünen Walde Da steht ein Försterhaus"; 9) "Kehr ich einst zur heimat wieder"; 10) "Es stehn zwei Freunde Hand in Hand"; 11) "Wenn alles grünt und blüht"; 12) "So einer war auch er"; 13) "Es war einmal ein kleines bübchen [this song was featured in "Schindler's List"]; 14) Polish parody of "O Tannenbaum"; 15) "Niewolnice Tango"; 16) "Pasiaki"; 17) "Za lagrem szumi gaj." Songs 1-13 performed by unidentified male singer. Songs 6-13 are German folksongs sung in the camps. Songs 15-17 performed in Polish by unidentified female singer.

    Following this last group of songs (ca. 50:30 to end) Józef Matynia identifies the songs recorded by Witold Szaran on Tape "B" (RG-91.2143) and discusses music at Auschwitz-Birkenau with Szalan.
