    Physical Description
Broadside printed on 10 separate pieces of rectangular, discolored, tan paper that have been glued together, end to end to create a single, long image depicting a timeline across the top. The chronologically arranged timeline, printed in black ink, runs across the top of the broadside, with 2000 BCE at the left end, and 1940 CE at the right. The first half of the timeline has a thin red line beneath it. Centered along the midline of the broadside is a thick red line that angles up and down across the full length and ends in an arrow pointing right, at the far right. German text is printed in white ink on the line, and there are irregularly shaped areas of solid black ink with white ink years printed in them are distributed at intervals along this line. There are also small, black and white images or scenes with German language captions in black ink printed above and below these areas across the full length. These images illustrate a range of German people in period dress, buildings in a range of architectural styles, territorial maps, and cultural materials like military regalia and weapons, pottery, and cultural or national symbols including runes, flags, and swastikas. The entire timeline is adhered to a white, linen backing.
