    Rénee Gill (née Goldberg), born on June 18, 1936 in Berlin, Germany, discusses fleeing Germany with her parents as an infant in 1937; her family taking a boat to Shanghai, China; living in Shanghai until 1945; her mother working many different jobs; her father’s poor health; the Shanghai Jewish Youth Association (SJYA) Kadoorie School; immigrating to Chile and living there from 1945 to 1951; and immigrating to the United States around 1951.
