Alfons Glaser, born on August 24, 1925 in Berlin, Germany, discusses anti-Jewish laws; Kristallnacht; traveling to Shanghai, China with mother in May 1939; the train to Genoa, traveling via the ship SS Conte Biancamano to Shanghai; receiving help from the Kadoorie and Sassoon families; the Hongkew Ghetto; and immigrating to the United States in 1947.
