Heineman, born on July 22, 1930 in Krefeld, Germany, discusses his pre-war early childhood; Kristallnacht; travelling to England via Kindertransport; Rowden Hall School hostel in Margate, England; Shomer Shabbat hostel in Aldridge; being in touch with his parents while they were in Theresienstadt; England post-war; reuniting with his parents in 1947; and immigrating to the United States in 1948.
