    Interview Summary
    Pavle Kalmar, born on February 17, 1933 in Subotica, Yugoslavia, discusses the Hungarian occupation in April 1941; his schooling; his father being taken for forced labor in 1942; Jews and Serbs expelled from school in 1943; his brother being taken for forced labor in 1944 but fleeing; the German occupation of Subotica in March 1944; the forced wearing of the star in April 1944; moving to the Subotica ghetto on May 8, 1944; being deported to Strasshof, Austria in June 1944; forced agricultural labor; transfer to Theresienstadt concentration camp; liberation by the Soviets on May 8, 1945; and immigrating to Israel in 1951.
