    Interview Summary
    Nisim Konfino, born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, discusses being active in Hashomer Hatzair; teaching in a Jewish elementary school in Zagreb until 1941; the creation of Croatia; barbarities of the Ustaše; being deported to Jasenovac concentration camp; his release after showing his special identification card; living in Ljubljana, Slovenia under Italian occupation till June 1942; his internment by Italians in Gonars and Angijari-Renici until 1943; fleeing the camp to organize a Yugoslav partisan unit later attached to an Italian unit called Favalto; and being forced to return to Yugoslavia in March 1945.
