    Max Reis, born in October 1928 in Berlin, Germany, discusses his pre-war childhood in Berlin; attending a Zionist school; being six years old when his father died (1934); travelling with his younger brother Dan as part of a Kindertransport in February 1939 to England; living with a Jewish foster family in London, England; evacuating to Oxford; joining Habonim; his experience as a refugee; getting his PhD in England; and immigrating to Haifa, Israel in 1956.
