    Kornelia Berger (née Weiss), born on June 10, 1926 in Sevlus, Czechoslovakia, discusses her businessman father; prewar Sevlus; antisemitism; her family’s good relations with Christians; the Hungarian occupation; her father losing his business license; her parents dying young, leaving herself and two siblings at home; one sibling immigrating to the United States; Cossacks; the German occupation; living in Sevlus ghetto for two weeks in April 1944; living conditions in the ghetto; deportation to Auschwitz concentration camp in 1944; Frankfurt Am Main; forced labor building water pipes; the brutality of the S.S.; one instance of kindness from a German soldier; being transferred to Ravensbrück concentration camp in November 1944, then to Mauthausen in February 1945; receiving aid from Jewish camp mates; Gunskirchen or Gusen; liberation by the Americans May 5, 1945; returning to her hometown; the negative behavior of her neighbors; her cousin taking her to Prague; living in a displaced persons camp in Prague; and immigrating to the United States in April 30, 1949.
