    John Marek, born on November 29, 1922 in Prague, Czechoslovakia, discusses living in Prague until 1941; his deportation to Theresienstadt concentration camp in 1942; internment in Auschwitz concentration camp from 1942 to 1945; escaping a death march to Bergen-Belsen with Ernie Michel; returning to Prague until the Communist takeover in 1948; living in a German displaced persons camp; and immigrating to the United States in 1949.
