    Andre Mermelstein, born on May 12, 1921 in ?omcuta Mare, Romania, discusses living in Khust (Romanian at his birth, under Czechoslovakia as of 1938, under Hungary as of 1939); building bunkers, roads, and railroads in the Carpathian mountains in January 1943; his internment in Mauthausen and Gunskirchen from April 1944 to 1945; camps, labor, and conditions; his hospitalization in Austria postwar; living in multiple displaced persons camps through UNRRA until 1948; living in Paris for two years; living in Montreal from 1951 to 1961; and immigrating to the United States in 1961.
