    Interview Summary
    William P. Schiff, born on December 20, 1918 in Krakow, Poland, discusses forced labor after the German invasion; internment in the Krakow ghetto; having a chance to escape to Russia but choosing to stay with his parents in the ghetto; being involved in smuggling; deportation to Plaszow concentration camp in 1942; internment in Auschwitz; testing meat before it was served to German guards; being protected from selections; internment in Gross-Rosen and Buchenwald; liberation by the Soviets while on a forced march; and immigrating to the United States in August 1949.
