    Interview Summary
    Sol Schindel (né Schindelheim), born on February 10, 1923 in Rudnik nad Sanem, Poland, discusses fleeing to Rzeszów; conditions and atrocities at multiple camps including Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1942; smuggling for Kapos and German Communists; involvement in the Auschwitz uprising; Crematorium 4; a Kapo saving him from punishment; being sent to Stutthof, Tuttlingen, and Allach; a forced march; hiding; going to Munich with a Russian friend postwar; attacking an SS officer, cutting off his hand and taking jewelry; living in Munich; working in the black market; and immigrating to the United States in 1950.
