Tomaš Šperl, born in 1927 in Czechoslovakia, describes the prewar Jewish community of Velhartice; the expropriation of Jewish-owned businesses; the actions of members of the Hilter Youth (Hitler Jugend); the deportation of the Jewish community in 1942; a Jewish family who gave away their possessions before their deportation; and a local prisoner of war camp.
