Stanislava Šprincová (née Kavanouá), born in 1924 in Olomouc, Czechoslovakia, describes the prewar Jewish community of Olomouc; the burning of the local synagogue; her forced labor; witnessing a transport of Jewish prisoners in 1943; her arrest in 1944 for contacts with prisoners of war; her imprisonment in Lanskroun until 1945; and surviving the bombing of Vienna.
